For many people having a sailing yacht is only a pipe dream but if you should come into some money and you feel that sailing is for you, what should you think of first. If you have never sailed before the big question is, will I enjoy it? The best way to do this is to try out a yachting holiday or weekend first.

There are many different boating experiences many prefer having a canal or narrow boat and some people even live on them. Other people just love the open sea, the fishing or scuba diving, the romantic freedom of the open waves. To try it out there are many holidays available on different types of boats and yachts anywhere in the world, you can holiday with others or organize a holiday for a group of friends and family. The more people you have the bigger the yachts available to you.

If all your experiences are in short sailing adventures of only a few hours in the day, with no over night stays, you will probably be on a Day yacht, which are usually less than 6 meters in length and probably will not even have a cabin.

For longer trips like a few days, the vessels will be between nine to ten meters and sleep between two to four people in the cabin. The size of sailing yachts you see very wealthy people with, are what is known as cruising yachts these vessel which start at ten to fourteen meters long and go to as big as the owner can afford.

An organized holiday means that you can try out sailing with someone else doing all the complicated stuff so you and your group can relax and enjoy your sailing experience. When you see all the holidaying film and pop stars in the magazines, they are not usually experienced sailors as many rich people who have yachts, hire experienced staff to make their sailing holidays go smoothly.

Try sailing for a weekend and see if it is for you but be warned the majority of people love the sailing experience and want to learn more.

If you want to sail on the ocean then building a homemade sailing boat can be a great project for you. It is a great way to spend summer vacation with family and friends. When you plan to build homemade sailing boat then the first step is to make the plan for it. After that you should buy your materials to build a sailing boat. The materials that are usually used to build a boat is plywood, duct tape, house paint, epoxy glue, circular saw and varnish.

The second step is to cut the plywood. For this, firstly you should mark the plywood before cutting by the use of scale or you can trace the pattern onto the plywood for the accurate measurements. When you complete with the structure, then the remaining part of the project will totally depends upon your design.

The third step is to put all parts together. The first thing is to glue together inside, outside, sides and the bottom of the boat. With the help of glue, wrap the tape around the joints. Now wait for sometime till it dry completely.

Now the next step is to seal off the joints edges. Now brush the epoxy on the fiberglass tape and then surrounds the sides of the seams with tape in order to seal off the joint edges. Let it desiccated thoroughly. When the seams from inside have dried repeat the same process for the outside seams. It helps in making your sailing boat waterproof. The final step is to paint your sailboat.

To sail on the ocean through your own homemade sailing boat is an awesome feeling for you.
